2025: Warehouse Business Process Automation

In June 2025, Scanport shared with TAdviser the results of the business process automation project for Wendex Retail.

Wendex Retail is engaged trade in vending machines. As part of the project, it was necessary to automate accounting processes in the warehouse and organize work with labeled goods. To solve the tasks, Scanport also used Shipping documentation ON DataMobile Marking with the software module.

Project objectives

When introducing mandatory labeling of water and soft drinks, Wendex Retail had to organize processes for scanning and taking labeling codes out of circulation.

With this request, the client turned to Scanport. The task was to introduce software for mobile automation of product accounting with mandatory labeling.

At the time of the appeal, Wendex Retail already had 19 Shipping Documentations Smart.Lite and Smart.Prime. Required ON for data acquisition terminals with a clear interface and optimal response rate.

What was used in this project

To solve the tasks set within the project, the DataMobile mobile application and the additional Labeling software module were used. The client purchased 19 subscription licenses on the DMcloud cloud service for a period of 12 months.

The DataMobile software product with the Marking module allows you to keep records of products by Data Matrix codes, namely:

• identify goods by them;
• check their uniqueness and correctness;
• control the shelf life of products;
• monitor the status of identification tools in the Honest SIGN system.

The mobile application meets the customer's requirements: it has a simple and understandable interface, is customizable by the user. The software is compatible with the "1C: Accounting 3.0" configuration, which is used in the client's company, without using additional drivers.

The ATOL data collection terminal is equipped with a built-in 2D scanner and allows you to read mandatory marking codes. Equipped with wireless Wi-Fi, Bluetooth modules, supports mobile communication.

Scanport specialists configured the DataMobile program for business tasks, integrated it into a modified accounting system. In general, the software implementation process took up to 3 months.

Results

According to the customer, the automation of the warehouse met expectations. Wendex Retail works with labeled products in compliance with the requirements of the law. The 2D scanner built into the shipping documentation reads the marking codes, and the pre-installed mobile application processes the data and interacts with the Honest SIGN system. Warehouse processes are fast and error-free.

On March 1, 2025, sample metering of packaged water began. At Wendex Reatale, by that time everything was ready for instance metering of labeled products.
