2025: Identification of Chinese Copper Herb Sales Scheme under the Guise of ₽1,4 Billion Russian
A large-scale scheme of fraud with medical gloves has been disclosed in Russia, the damage from which amounted to ₽1,4 billion. An organized group of entrepreneurs from Buryatia has been supplying low-quality Chinese products to state medical institutions for four years, passing it off as domestic. This was announced by the international association "Anti-Counterfeit" at the end of June 2025.
According to Izvestia, fraudulent activities were carried out through the companies Spets-i-al and Royal Crown, registered in Novosibirsk and Buryatia. The owners of these organizations are residents of Buryatia - brother and sister Vyacheslav and Valentina Eskovs, as well as their companion Artem Burdukovsky.
InThe scheme worked as follows: entrepreneurs purchased ready-made medical gloves in Asian countries - Malaysia, China and Vietnam, after which they repackaged them under their own trademarks in the village of Turuntaevo, Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia. At the same time, no real production of medical products was organized in Russia - technical machines and production facilities were used only as a decoration.
The head of the Center for the Protection of Copyright Holders of the International Association "Anticontrafact" Alexander Nosenko noted that the demand for medical gloves increased sharply during the pandemic. Since 2021, unscrupulous market participants have begun to imitate the production of medical devices to meet the requirements of the national regime in Russia.
Fake gloves pose a serious danger to health workers and patients. They do not meet the criteria of strength and sterility, can break at a critical moment and do not protect against infection when in contact with infected patients. Elvira Sinyakova, a dermatovenerologist at the Medsi clinic, emphasized that poor-quality medical gloves can cause severe allergic reactions and contact dermatitis.[1]
