St. Petersburg State University, together with the technology company VK, is working to build a single digital ecosystem within the University using domestic technological solutions. Thus, St. Petersburg State University began introducing the MAX messenger for corporate communication within the University. VK announced this on July 15, 2025.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the development of a multifunctional information exchange service - a national messenger. It is created on the basis of the MAX platform.

The functionality of the MAX messenger will simplify the exchange of information between employees of different departments and will create a single space for collaboration from any devices that have access to. Internet The service will also minimize the risks associated with the security of communication personal data protection and employees, students and partner organizations of the University.

The use of a national messenger based on MACH is part of the implementation of decrees of the President of the Russian Federation aimed at ensuring the security of information infrastructure, and also contributes to the development of the national technological base and support for domestic innovations in the field of information technology.

The project to build a single digital ecosystem also provides for the integration of the University's existing information resources with the VK Workspace platform. The service allows you to organize workflows thanks to the functionality of corporate mail with an integrated calendar and contacts, a messenger with audio and video conferencing, meeting planning tools, task management, as well as a convenient cloud for storing files with support for online document editing.
