Branches: Internet services

Google starts One Pass Google service - the intermediary between publishers and subscribers, offered similar service before Apple on App Store. The competing services are expected consumption of digital content by means of smartphones and tablet PCs which popularity continues to grow.

Service from Google allows readers to purchase digital issues of newspapers and magazines, using uniform identification of Google. The publishers using the Google One Pass platform will receive 90% of cost of a subscription.

Service from Apple is expected users of iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The publishers who selected the Apple platform will receive 70% of the raised money.

One of requirements of Apple – the cost of electronic release for the subscriber of App Store should be the same, as the cost of the same content in other places of network.

Google not only does not set price caps for publishers, but also opens for them the contact information of subscribers allowing producers of content to communicate with readers without mediation of Google.

Service from Apple works in those countries in which App Store is officially supported. Google One Pass is meanwhile available to publishers and subscribers in the USA, Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
