In February, 2011 after almost five years' parting Kaspersky Lab managed to return to number of the clients of the largest state customer — JSC Russian Railways (RR).
Since 2005 the Japanese-American developer Trend Micro who drove, in turn, out of the railway market Kaspersky Lab was engaged in security of IT infrastructure of the Russian Railway.
Speaking about new implementation in the Russian Railway, Kaspersky Lab was limited to extremely avaricious details, having told only that now in Russian Railway network development of Kaspersky Total Space Security, the most complete solution of a corporate class will be used. In addition to traditional protection of workstations and servers and network traffic control and mail, Total Space Security it is capable to provide with protection smartphones.
Between Kaspersky Lab and the Russian Railway participants of the transaction held back durations of the agreement, however, reported that railroad workers will be able to receive free software updatings during all duration of the agreement.
Transaction amount of the party was also not disclosed, and CNews asked to estimate her Alexander Chachava, the president of Leta Group which is engaged in distribution in Russia of anti-virus solutions of ESET, competitors of Kaspersky Lab[1].
According to CNews, IT infrastructure of the Russian Railway is made by more than 280 thousand workstations, more than 300 corporate servers, and 64 mainframes.
According to Chachava, at such large order "there cannot be a speech about standard price lists" therefore it is the simplest to carry out the assessment of implementation on the basis of data on the known public tenders in the organizations of similar scale. The expert remembered how in June, 2010 Kaspersky Lab won competition of Russian Post in which the right of delivery of anti-virus products approximately for 200 thousand computers was played. The developer got a victory with the request the little "less" than the marginal price which was 240 million rubles. However, according to Chachava, at the current competition in the anti-virus market the price of delivery of such number of licenses is lower.
In April, 2012 Kaspersky Lab announced prolongation by Russian Railways of licenses for Kaspersky Total Space Security — a product for the centralized protection of a corporate information network. The solution deployed in the company the previous year and in practice proved the efficiency, will continue to ensure safety of branched structure of the Russian Railway.
