2024: Sales of braces in the world for the year increased by 6.8% to $4.7 billion
In 2024, the global bracket market reached $4.7 billion. For comparison, a year earlier, sales of such orthodontic products were estimated at $4.4 billion. Thus, growth was recorded at 6.8%. The relevant data are provided in a study by Precedence Research, the results of which Zdrav.Expert reviewed at the end of July 2025.
One of the drivers of the analytics industry is called raising awareness of people about oral health. Braces are used to eliminate maxillary abnormalities, correct the bite and correct the wrong position of the teeth. The advantage of such orthodontic structures is a wide list of indications for use: braces can be used to treat almost any bite pathology that does not require surgery. Such products are able to push, pull and even unfold each individual tooth in the right direction. Braces can be used alone or in combination with other treatments. Internal or lingual braces are attached to the enamel on the inside of the teeth, which does not affect aesthetics.
Technological advances, including the introduction of artificial intelligence, computer-aided design (CAD) systems and 3D imaging, are having a positive impact on the market. Integrating AI into orthodontic treatment planning and delivery processes changes the way patients are served, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a high level of personalization. By analyzing individual-specific data, including dental history, facial structure, and current oral health, AI helps in the development of an individual therapy regimen focused on achieving the best outcome. AI algorithms are able to predict tooth movement during treatment and point to potential problems.
By material type, the authors of the study segment the market into ceramic, metal and plastic braces and other types of products. In 2024, the largest share of revenue was provided by solutions of the first of these types. Compared to the classic metal system, ceramics have a color close to natural tooth enamel: such braces are invisible on the teeth, and therefore attract a minimum of extraneous attention. In addition, ceramics are harmless to human health and do not cause allergic reactions.
Geographically, North America leads with a 35% share. Europe is in second place with 30%, and the Asia-Pacific region closes the top three with 24%. Next comes Latin America with 8%. The Middle East and Africa account for 3% of sales in monetary terms. At the same time, the highest growth rates are recorded in the Asia-Pacific region, which is due to the increasing attention of the local population to oral health and aesthetics. In addition, large international companies are expanding their presence in the region, which ultimately increases competition and promotes innovation. Globally, the list of leading industry players includes:
- Henry Schei
- 3M Unitek;
- GC Orthodontics;
- Forestadent;
- Patterson Dental;
- American Orthodontics;
- Dentsply;
- Zhejiang Protect Medical;
- Ormco;
- Dentaurum;
- Dental Morelli;
- ShanghaiIMD;
- Hangzhou Xingchen 3B Dental;

Precedence Research analysts believe that in the future, the CAGR will be 6.71%. Thus, by 2034, spending may increase to about $9 billion.[1]
