The Super Lenta retail chain has launched a pilot project for the delivery of food products using autonomous courier robots in partnership with the Yandex.Eda service in Moscow and the city of Murino, Leningrad Region. At the initial stage, ten chain stores were connected to the innovative delivery system - eight outlets in the capital and two stores in the suburbs of St. Petersburg, which will allow customers to receive food orders without the participation of human couriers. This was announced by the company on August 5, 2025.

According to the press service of Lenta, buyers were able to independently choose the method of delivery of the order and track the movement of the courier robot in real time through the Yandex.Ed. mobile application. After the autonomous device arrives at its destination, the client receives a push notification to the smartphone.

Orders are assembled by employees of Super Lenta stores according to standard picking procedures. Delivery of products by autonomous robots is provided to customers free of charge as part of a pilot test of the technology.

The technical characteristics of courier robots provide a delivery radius of up to two kilometers from the outlet. The order delivery time is from 30 minutes from the moment of checkout in the mobile application or on the service website. The maximum carrying capacity of autonomous couriers is 20 kilograms, which corresponds to the average volume of orders in the format of shops at home.

Evgenia Fanta, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Lenta, explained the motives for the company's participation in the autonomous delivery project. She noted the growing interest of consumers in innovative delivery technologies and the potential to attract new customers through modern services.

The technological partnership with Yandex is not the first joint project with the retailer. Lenta develops its own online store and simultaneously cooperates with external e-commerce platforms to expand its sales channels.

The launch of courier robots is an element of the infrastructure of a new generation of delivery systems, characterized by high speed, accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
