2021: Rostelecom launched a new data center in Moscow for 207 racks

In early October 2021, Rostelecom announced the launch of a new data center in Moscow - Nord-6. Its area is 3 thousand square meters. m, and the total capacity is 5 MW. Designed for 207 racks, the facility is located on the Korovinsky highway in the north of the capital.

According to the press service of Rostelecom, the data center is built according to the Uptime Institute standard and corresponds to the Tier III reliability level. The company has implemented the ability to reserve all elements of the infrastructure (energy and cold supply, telecommunications routes, fire extinguishing and monitoring systems), thanks to which, as stated, the uninterrupted operation of the data processing center is ensured even during routine maintenance.

Rostelecom launched a new data center in Moscow for 207 racks

Customers can take advantage of the following services available at all sites of the geodistributed data center network:

  • Placement of server equipment (Colocation)
  • telecom services;
  • cloud infrastructure (IaaS) and services;
  • backup;
  • administration;
  • information security.

There is a shortage of data center capacities in the capital market, and we are striving to meet the growing demand from customers, "says Yury Samoilov, First Deputy General Director of Rostelecom DPC, General Director of DataLine. - In addition to expanding the Nord site, in the near future we plan to commission the first stage of the Tier IV level data center with a total design capacity of 2 thousand racks.

The new data center opened as part of a project to develop the Nord site on the Korovinsky highway. In addition to the new data center, by the beginning of October 2021, five data centers with a total capacity of 3764 racks were operating at the facility.

The operation of the new site is provided by the Center for Data Center Technologies team, which includes specialists in managing Dataline and Rostelecom DPC data centers.
