2025: The state acquired the MC "Mechanobr" and transferred the management of them|St. Petersburg Mining University of Empress Catherine II

The Mehanobr business center on the 22nd line of Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg changed its owner under the deal. Mechanobr Service LLC sold an office complex with an area of 10.2 thousand square meters in favor of the Russian Federation. The deal was concluded in mid-June 2025.

According to Delovoy Petersburg, the state is indicated as the new owner of the property, according to Rosreestr. On the same day of signing the sale and purchase agreement, a document was drawn up on the transfer of the business center to the management of the FSBEI HE "St. Petersburg Mining University of Empress Catherine II."

Business center "Mechanobr" on Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg sold for ₽1 billion

The acquired property complex included courtyard buildings, which increased the total area of the object to 30 thousand square meters. Previously, the premises in the building were used to accommodate offices, warehouses and retail outlets.

The official value of the transaction was not disclosed by the participants. Real estate market consultants, in a conversation with the publication, estimated the business center at about ₽1 billion, excluding production and warehouse facilities included in the complex.

The main owner of Mehanobr Service LLC, which sold the company, is Institute Mehanobr JSC, which owns 99.77% of the share in the authorized capital. The beneficiaries of the institute are Vasily Arsentiev, Elizaveta Berezova, Valery Borodulin and Konstantin Sazonov.

The Mechanobre Institute specializes in mineral processing technologies and historically maintains close ties with the University of Mines. Such cooperation explains the logic of transferring a real estate object to this particular educational institution.

Nelly Aleinikova, partner and director of the corporate services department at Maris, noted that Mining University is a neighbor of the acquired business center. According to her, the purchase of an office building seems to be an absolutely logical solution for the educational institution.[1]
