2025: Developer Portal Presentation

STC IT ROSA launched the developer.rosa.ru developer portal - a single resource for creating and testing applications for the Russian mobile operating system ROSA Mobile and devices R-FON and R-TAB. The company announced this on August 20, 2025. This is the official site where all the necessary materials for developers are collected: documentation, installation packages for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu, design guides, the ROSA Control library, code samples and testing tools, including the ROSA Mobile simulator. The portal is designed so that developers can focus on functionality and user experience, gaining access to proven official tools and detailed instructions.

ROSA Mobile simulator, running in the ROSA Fresh operating system, recreates the desktop of the mobile OS and allows you to run simple applications that do not require specific equipment, which makes it convenient for debugging interfaces and components that are not related to the device. Developers can use it to quickly test ideas and demonstrate functions without having to install the application on a physical device.

We wanted to give developers the opportunity to start working with ROSA Mobile as quickly as possible, without the need to have a device at hand. The simulator allows you to test the interfaces and logic of the application, and when switching to the real R-FON or R-TAB, the developer can only optimize the work for a specific hardware, - said Yuri Sorochkin, head of the development department of the mobile OS STC IT ROSA.

A development environment for all popular operating systems is available on the portal: for Windows, it is proposed to install in a few clicks with a ready-made environment setting, for macOS - detailed instructions for configuring and connecting the emulator, and for Ubuntu - a step-by-step guide with the installation of Visual Studio Code, plug-in ROSA Mobile, Docker and Oracle VM VirtualBox with virtual device image, as well as support for building for the aarch64 architecture through qemu-user-static, which allows you to work with mobile ARM devices on x86-64 systems.

The portal is divided into thematic blocks: the news publishes announcements and events of the company, in the release section - updates of R-FON and R-TAB firmware, separately presents information about ROSA Mobile and its services, system applications, ROSA ID as a single authorization system, as well as pages about R-FON and R-TAB with technical characteristics and compatibility information. In the ROSA TechTolk section, you can find announcements of events and recordings of past meetings with developers.

The design section contains guidelines, links to layouts in Figma and the history of interface development, and the ROSA Controls library provides descriptions and examples of using standard interface elements - buttons, input fields, radio buttons, drop-down lists and other components that provide a uniform user experience. To speed up the work, samples of the code of three applications are available: Hello, World for acquaintance with the API, ROSA Migration for demonstration of data migration and ROSA Notes as an example of a fully functional application with the creation, editing and deletion of records.

The support section contains a knowledge base and a form of contacting technical support, and in the "Cooperation" block you can apply for collaboration with STC IT ROSA. Some of the portal's materials are available only after authorization: registered users can download the installers of the development environment and simulator, access closed documentation and APIs, and also seek technical support. Registration is easy and takes a few minutes.

The launch of the developer.rosa.ru was an important step in the development of the ROSA ecosystem, providing developers with a single set of tools, the ability to deploy the environment on any OS, test applications without a physical device, use official UI components and roadlines, and directly interact with platform developers.
