The South Ukrainian national pedagogical university selected DeskWork for creation of a common information space

Softline announces completion of implementation of the DeskWork corporate portal at the South Ukrainian national pedagogical university of K.D. Ushinsky (YuGPU of K.D. Ushinsky). It is the first university in Ukraine which using the portal is going to create a common information space and to simplify communications in the university.

The DeskWork corporate portal is not the first software product which the university purchases in Softline. YuGPU of K.D. Ushinsky and Softline cooperate more than four years in the field of delivery of the software. During installation, setup and start of the portal the help of technical specialists of Softline, in particular deployment of a product based on Windows Server 2008 R2 was required. First of all, IT specialists of the university configured the modules "Address Directory", "Videogalerey", "Personal Websites".

The module "Personal Websites" gives an opportunity to store individual documents, notes, contacts – a desktop analog in office, – to create to the user personal information "space". Each employee can configure the personal website independently: as it is convenient to it. Setup of the module is expected the normal user (not on the technical specialist), i.e. does not use tools which create, store and process the code of programs.

Videogalerey allows how to load and reproduce directly on the portal (without application of the additional software) files in the format flv, mp4, h.264, and to post the selected video on any pages of the portal. The module "Address directory" gives an opportunity of sorting according to any of fields and also search of the employee in name fields and surnames. The module is connected with "Graphic structure of the company", allowing to use information of the general objects as that: user, division. The module applies for an original informatin from the Active Directory directory, allows to enter it manually and also to import data on users from XML files. Using import from XML files integration with other systems, for example, obtaining information on employees from the existing management programs for personnel and registration of personnel is possible.

According to Evgeny Sedov, the vice rector of the South Ukrainian national pedagogical university of K.D. Ushinsky, use of the DeskWork corporate portal will allow to organize work of staff of university with information and to solve problems of internal communications.
