The Russian company VPG LaserONE has created a device for innovative laser welding of glass. The technology allows you to connect glass to glass and metals without using adhesive materials. The method will find application in microelectronics, instrumentation, microfluidics and medical devices. The company told about this in December 2025.

Unlike traditional methods, the new technology does not use adhesives or classical diffusion welding. The absence of adhesive materials ensures the stability and long service life of the joint even when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. This makes it possible to use the technology for advanced technological production.

Instead of adhesives, short-wave laser sources are used that can accurately weld materials in a localized region of 30 μm. This accuracy provides a reliable and durable connection. Minimal thermal impact during welding eliminates deformation and damage.

This is especially important in the manufacture of precision instruments and sensors in medicine, optics and laser complexes. A small zone of thermal influence allows you to work with sensitive components without the risk of damage. Controlled heating prevents internal stresses in the material.

Welded joints are characterized by high mechanical strength over a wide temperature range - from -10 to + 60 degrees Celsius. The strength of glass-glass welds created according to the new VPG LaserONE method corresponds to the characteristics of the base material.

Maintaining strength in various temperature conditions expands the scope of the technology. The joints withstand mechanical loads and temperature differences without breaking. The uniform distribution of stresses in the seam ensures the reliability of the structure throughout the entire service life.^[1]

Inclusion in the register of domestic products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade

VPG LaserONE On August 27, 2025, it announced the introduction of its Multifunctional Welding Training Complex laser in (register of domestic products Ministry of Industry and Trade Register No. 10688761).

The multifunctional complex is a set of equipment and devices designed to teach students of higher and secondary professional educational institutions the basics of laser welding. The Complex includes a manual laser welding system LiteWELD, a textbook developed by specialists, as well as a set of additional equipment and accessories, which allows you to create a full-fledged training and practical platform. The compact dimensions of the complex allow you to place it even in small classrooms.

The LiteWELD line of laser welders is an industrial equipment designed to solve various welding tasks for both thin and thick metal materials. Each model in this series is specially designed to meet the needs of different categories of users and their specific requirements for welding processes.

VPG LaserONE continues to actively work on certification and by the end of 2025 plans to include in the list of products of Russian origin in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 719 most of the assortment of manufactured equipment. As of August 2025, 45 items of goods produced by the company are officially included in the Register.

The inclusion in the Register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of a multifunctional robotic complex for laser welding and its recognition as fully domestic equipment is of great importance not only for our company, but also for the entire laser industry. Now these equipment will be able to purchase even more educational institutions throughout the country for their needs, which means that they will be able to train even more qualified specialists for Russian industrial enterprises.
