2025: RiskControl-Based SDIS Implementation
The PPK Group, together with Conteq, has completed a project to implement a risk management information system (RMS) based on RiskControl, a domestic platform developed by Conteq. The project was announced on September 3, 2025 by Conteq.
The system has been put into commercial operation and is used by employees of all enterprises of the group, including offices in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Tuapse.
The project started in November 2024 and was implemented in six months, in April 2025. As a result, the company received a modern tool that allows you to manage risks, structure information, automate the processes of interaction between participants and form high-quality analytical reporting.
The business risk management processes previously operating in the company were not automated, and universal, non-specialized tools were used to work with information and risk data. All risk management steps were performed manually using tools - Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Power Point, which made the overall end-to-end process insufficiently efficient. Data for management decisions were generated manually, in the format of tables, texts or presentations. Communications and information exchange were carried out by e-mail, which made information flows scattered, increased information loss, caused delays in the exchange of data between participants in the process.
The main objective of the project was to introduce an information system that would allow:
- structured and in accordance with the methodology to record risk information,
- process risk information in accordance with the procedure and steps of the process adopted by the company,
- accumulate knowledge of typical risks to improve the quality of dealing with them,
- participants in the process interact with each other in an orderly manner,
- plan risk management activities and have a transparent picture of their status,
- monitor the deadlines for the implementation of actions within the process,
- maintain a history of the evolution of risk parameters in order to better understand the results of the risk management process and accumulate best practices,
- Generate clear reporting on the impact of risks on business process metrics for informed decision-making.
In the course of the work, the participants of the joint project team analyzed and described the risk management business processes, updated the internal documentation describing the methodology, designed solutions for adapting the RiskControl functionality to support risk management business processes by the RMS in accordance with the methodology. The Customer's team took an active part in system testing, user involvement in training, pilot operation and adaptation of the new system. IT team members also interacted with the RiskControl team to implement non-functional IT and information security requirements.
RiskControl stores a change log of each risk, action, or incident card object. At the same time, in the version log, we can see who changed each attribute and when. This is very important for maintaining correct information about management objects, and most importantly for understanding the evolution of risks, activities, incidents and the ability to compare them with each other and track changes in time.
Analysis of such changes and identification of trends become a valuable tool for making management decisions. RiskControl saves the entire change history by automatically writing the information to the database, which in turn is the data source for the analytics.
The RiskControl information system made it possible to unite all group companies in a single space of participants in risk management processes, providing a common role model and support for the matrix structure. In addition, the flexibility of the platform and the built-in no-code/low-code tools opened up the possibility of using the system not only for managing operational and design risks, but also for labor protection and industrial safety processes.
