2025: Product Announcement

The Chinese company Shanghai Kepler Robotics has begun mass production of the humanoid robot K2 "Bumblebee" ("Bumblebee"). It is the world's first commercially available humanoid robot with hybrid architecture and has moved from the prototype stage to mass release. The company confirmed the start of deliveries of robots to customers with a special video. The cost of the base model is ₽248 thousand per unit, which is significantly lower than the millionth barrier for prototypes of humanoid robots. The shift to large-scale production marks an important stage in the global commercialization of robotics. This was announced by the company on September 26, 2025.

The launch of mass production represents structural changes in the development of the global industry of humanoid robotics. The video shows the K2 "Bumblebee" robot performing a straight-sided bipedal gait. Assembly line operations, component testing and extreme temperature testing are shown.

Production of humanoid industrial robots with a built-in computer for 100 trillion operations per second and smooth movements began

The robot has successfully passed system tests for aging, obstacle navigation and thousands of hours of continuous operation without failures. Dynamic performance tests confirmed that the model is ready for deployment in real-world conditions. All tests have proven the reliability of the system for industrial applications.

The K2 "Bumblebee" features a hybrid series-parallel design. The system combines screw linear drives with rotary mechanisms. The architecture provides increased stability, extended lifespan, and optimized performance for industrial environments.

Due to the technical complexity and high development costs, only a limited number of robotics companies in the world have reached this level. The successful launch of the K2 "Bumblebee" demonstrates the achievement of Kepler Robotics mass production on an international technology platform.[1]
