In the summer of 2024, the LabQuest-Genetics laboratory launched the direction of genetic research in preparation for childbirth. It was important for the company to organize an automatically scalable infrastructure for processing large amounts of biomaterial sequencing data for pregnant women and IVF program participants. The information obtained through sequencing allows researchers to identify serious genetic pathologies in the unborn child.

The complexity of the work consisted in sharp bursts of load that occurred when regular loading of test results into special software for their analysis "SecVario Platform" of Russian development. In order to flexibly scale the infrastructure to the current load and ensure high data processing speed, the company decided to migrate to the cloud. The company chose Cloud.ru as a cloud provider, deploying infrastructure in high-performance clusters on Kubernetes. The company also configured data backups in the cloud.

Thanks to Cloud.ru, the LabQuest-Genetics laboratory continuously processes large amounts of data and quickly detects the risks of chromosomal disorders of the fetus and embryos. Moreover, by automatically scaling resources in the cloud, we managed to significantly reduce infrastructure costs during periods of low load. The demand for genetic tests is growing steadily - in the last six months alone, the volume of orders has doubled. In the future of the next two years, we plan to increase the current indicators at least four times, "said Irina Petrova, executive director of LabQuest-Genetics.
