The Nizhny Tagil plant of metal constructions upgrades IT infrastructure

The Softline company completed the works on upgrade of IT infrastructure of the Nizhny Tagil plant of metal constructions using solutions of Microsoft.

At the Beginning

Process of permanent development required upgrade of the existing IT infrastructure of the enterprise, the including task of providing: scalabilities of IT infrastructure; fault tolerances of crucial services; controllability of IT infrastructure; cutting of costs for support of IT infrastructure; safety of crucial data of the enterprise.

NTZMK attracted Softline company to project implementation of upgrade of IT infrastructure.

Implementation

Within the project transfer of a part of the existing servers in virtual environment of Hyper-V is made; are implemented a management system for workstations and servers of the enterprise through System Center Essentials 2010 and policy of backup on the basis of Data Protection Manager 2010.

On the course

"We were faced by a problem of reliability augmentation of IT infrastructure of the plant by transfer of servers in a failover cluster of Hyper-V and the maximum automation of process of management of the park of virtual machines, – Alexey Raspopov, the technical lead of the project from Softline company tells. – Besides, it was necessary to reduce risk of data loss by backup system implementation".

Within the project transfer of a part of the existing hardware servers in virtual environment was made; management systems for configurations of workstations, monitoring of servers (System Center Essentials 2010) and also backup based on the Data Protection Manager 2010 software product are implemented.

Results

As a result of project implementation all goals designated by the customer were achieved. Virtualization of servers and creation of a failover cluster provided expense reduction on the equipment and the electric power; processes of service of servers and input of new services in NTZMK are considerably simplified.

Thanks to a management system for configurations of workstations and monitoring of the System Center Essentials 2010 servers at the enterprise there was a single console from which it is possible to manage quickly servers, the equipment, the software and IT services. Such automation of routine processes provided an increase in labor productivity of employees of IT department of the Nizhny Tagil plant of metal constructions.

Implementation of service of backup of Data Protection Manager 2010 provides reliable data protection and risks of data loss are repeatedly reduced.

These solutions and also system implementation of a clustering provided: simplification of management process, increase in effective management of IT infrastructure and, as a result, increase in fault tolerance of IT services of the enterprise, continuity of work of the services, most important for company performance.

"Now in virtual environment the electronic document management system is successfully implemented. Total number of servers increased by 35%, at the same time the number of the hardware thanks to removal from operation of old servers decreased by 20%.
