Google Navigation

The Google company announced in March, 2011 start in Russia "Google of Navigation" - a new free feature of mobile maps of Google. The beta of service is available to phones based on Android 1.6 OS above.

"Google Navigation" is the GPS navigator connected to the Internet which gives step-by-step instructions in the direction of travel. At the same time the user can select the most convenient display mode – the map or satellite pictures. Besides, in "Google of Navigation" function of voice search is available.

"Google Navigation" considers the current load of streets and lays a route taking into account traffic jams. At the same time the choice always remains for the user - the service can offer three routes at choice and will show time of the movement on each of them. Besides, in "Google of Navigation" there is an opportunity to include layers, there is a satellite type of the card and the pedestrian mode.

Mobile maps are updated automatically and always match the latest version of Google maps available on the maps.google.ru page.

In addition to Russia, navigation of Google works in 16 countries of the world.

As noted, navigation uses vector cards, small on volume, which quickly are loaded and remain in memory of phone. Therefore even if phone left an area of coverage of network, and the user of subjects of times contracted not there, navigation will be able to lay a new route to the destination.

To set Google maps with navigation, it is necessary to download the latest version of cards with "Android of the Market" and to install them on phone with Android OS of the version not lower than 1.6.
