2011: Synology RS2211

The Synology Inc company announced in March, 2011 release new rack 10 - ti the disk systems of network storage of RS2211+ and RS2211RP + format 19" / 2U which provide high performance and have the expanded functionality capable to meet the most strict requirements of business users. Expansion units of Synology RX1211 and RX1211RP allow to increase storage amount to 22 hard drives, using for connection to head the NAS bus Infiniband providing capacity of 12 Gbps.

After achievement of extreme capacity of NAS RS2211+/RS2211RP+, the user will be able to increase storage amount using connection of expansion units. Installation in expansion units of RX1211/RX1211RP of disks the amount of 3 Tb allows to reach total volume in 66 TB. Communication of expansion units with head devices is performed on the bus InfiniBand providing high capacity and reliability of connection. In a basic complete set the RS2211+/RS2211RP+ NAS servers are equipped with 1 GB of RAM, but at increased requirements to system performance, amount of memory can be increased up to 3 GB.

Today business needs quick and reliable access to corporate data. Synology RS2211+/RS2211RP + provide during the work with Windows clients the speed of reading 198 MB, and records of 166 Mbps in the mode of the included aggregation of network ports NAS and use of RAID5, disk in an array. Existence of function of hot swap of disks and two network ports with a possibility of dynamic duplication of channels, ensure smooth operation during all service life. For achievement of the maximum fault tolerance of the NAS RS2211RP+ model and expansion unit of RX1211RP are equipped with standby units of a power supply.

1.8 GHz of RS2211+/RS2211RP+ working on dual-core processors with clock rate consume only 115.50 W during an overall load and 49.50 W in the hibernation mode that is provided due to decrease in frequency of the processor and a stop of disks. As for expansion units, in the mode of "deep sleep" RX2211+/RX2211RP+ about 90% of energy are capable to save.

The high quality and huge security margin put in these multidisk storage systems allow the producer to provide on them a guarantee for a period of 3 years.

Having a full support of the protocol iSCSI, RS2211+/RS2211RP+ Citrix® XenServer™ and Microsoft Hyper-V™ are capable to act as data warehouses for the powerful virtualized server systems on the basis of VMware® vSphere™. Besides, thanks to support of Windows ADS and lists of access control (ACL), the RS2211+/RS2211RP+ NAS server are capable to be integrated into difficult network infrastructure of the large companies effectively.
