2026: Appointment as CEO of T-Mobile

Mobile operator T-Mobile has appointed Vladimir Lyubimov as the new general director. Prior to that, he was responsible for directing settlement and deposit operations at T-Bank and oversaw the Black debit card project. This was announced on January 22, 2026 by the press service of T-Mobile.

Lyubimov also worked as vice president of the telecom division of T-Bank, responsible for the strategic development of the direction. The new appointment does not mean abandoning the banking block - the top manager will retain control over both business segments, the T-Mobile company said. Lyubimov's predecessor Vitaly Briedis, who managed the operator for four years from the fall of 2021, headed the VIP customer service unit of the financial institution.

Lyubimov's career developed within the financial block of the corporation. The accumulated expertise in the creation of demanded financial instruments will now be applied in the telecommunications sector, T-Mobile said.

It is claimed that the experience of the vice president of the mobile division allowed the new leader to study the specifics of the industry. According to Lyubimov, the mobile operator has evolved from an auxiliary service into a fundamental element of the corporate proposal. The telecommunications division addresses the basic daily needs of subscribers. The combination of a means of payment and a SIM card has turned into a mandatory waiting for users.

Lyubimov pointed out that such a bundle has become an industry standard. Other market participants are copying the model of combining banking and telecom opportunities. Pioneering companies set the bar for consumer expectations. The rest of the players are forced to adapt to the formed standards.

The leader announced his intention to translate the methods tested on the Black debit card into a telecommunications plane. The operator will develop according to the principles of financial technologies with an emphasis on quality, customer experience and optimization of operations.
