2026: Robot Joint Plant Launch

In January 2026, in Shanghai (China), Eyou Robot Technology commissioned the world's first automated joint line for humanoid robots. The annual capacity of the new line is 100 thousand units of products with the possibility of increasing to 300 thousand.

According to the analytical firm Counterpoint Research, in 2025, 16 thousand such robots were installed in the world, and by 2027 supplies could exceed 100 thousand units. China has a leading position in the sector, accounting for more than 80% of global installations in 2025. The main product of Eyou - the integrated joint module - forms almost half of the total cost of a humanoid robot.

World's first robot joint factory launched in China

Founded in 2018, Eyou is a supplier to Chinese humanoid robot manufacturers including industry leader AgiBot. The company mastered the mass production of joints in 2023, and in 2025 the volume of supplies exceeded 95 thousand units.

According to the Eyou report, in March 2025, the company raised 50 million yuan ($7.2 million) in Series A financing. Investors were funds managed by Pudong Venture Capital Group, Shanghai Zhangjiang Science & Technology Investment Corporation, TCL Venture Capital, Daocin Capital and Wuxi Capital Group.

Industry experts predict rapid market scaling. As reported by Shanghai Securities News, citing a representative of a component manufacturer from Zhejiang province, the creation of production facilities is necessary in advance to consolidate the advantage of the pioneer. Mass production of robots may not develop according to the gradual model characteristic of the automotive industry, but abruptly after key technological breakthroughs.[1]
