2026: Electronic Unit Faulty Wiring Detection
At the end of January 2026, the Chinese automaker Chery announced the recall of the Jaecoo J7 and Tiggo 7 crossovers. According to the State Administration for Market Regulation of the PRC, the identified problem affects the wiring harness of the electronic control unit (ECU) by the engine.
It was established that during the assembly process, the ECU wire set on the recalled vehicles was not properly fixed. Over time, this can cause the wiring to rub and disrupt signaling. In certain situations, the problem can provoke a sudden engine stop, which increases the likelihood of a traffic accident. As of the end of January 2026, no accidents or injuries related to this issue have been reported. However, owners of defective machines need to contact a service center.

The recall affects 1,108 Jaecoo J7 vehicles (also known domestically as the Tansuo 06) and Tiggo 7 produced between April 1 and December 8, 2025. These cars are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 194 liters. from. and a torque of 290 N·m, paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with dual clutch.
Chery will conduct a free inspection of the cable harness of the engine control unit on each car subject to the recall program. If a wiring fault is detected, specialists will carry out the necessary repair procedures, including replacing worn out components. All work will be carried out free of charge for car owners.[1]
