2026: Production of microelectronics for mechanical engineering launched in Minsk
In January 2026, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the Planar enterprise in Minsk. Within the framework of the visit, the center of special technological equipment for the production of photographic patterns and microoptics was launched. During his visit to the enterprise, the head of state set a task for the domestic microelectronic industry to maintain outstripping growth rates.
The head of state, speaking about the development of the microelectronic industry, said that this is the future. He stressed the need to constantly "run half a step ahead," creating products necessary for the whole world. Planar CEO Sergei Avakov Lukashenko pointed out that the company demonstrates a successful example of this approach, ahead of similar production in Belarus and Russia.
"Planar"In his speech, the head of state noted that Belarus managed not only to preserve, but also to modernize microelectronic production inherited from the Soviet period. Lukashenko stated that the time has come for Belarusian microelectronics, and priority investments in the industry were justified.
According to the general director of Planar Sergei Avakov, the company's revenue during the five-year plan quadrupled, and export supplies quadrupled. Lukashenko assured that the state will continue to support the industry, since Russia is also interested in the products of Belarusian microelectronics, where this direction developed more slowly after the collapse of the USSR.
According to the publication "BelTA," the new center is equipped with a unique line of laser equipment for defect-free production. Only the United States, Japan and some countries of the European Union have full-cycle technologies for creating such complexes. In the future, the center has the opportunity to switch to the production of products with thinner standards - 65 nm, for which additional equipment is planned.[1]
