Biography

Anatoly Dmitrievich Artamonov was born on May 5, 1952 in the village Red Hvastovichsky district of the Kaluga region in country family.

In 1974 graduated from the Moscow institute of engineers of agricultural production of V.P. Goryachkin.

Upon termination of university arrived to Hvastovichsky district of the Kaluga region where worked as the manager of repair shops of state farm Hvastovichsky.

Then three years A.D. Artamonov worked as the chief engineer in state farm Shakhovsky of Mosalsky district. In 1978 it was appointed the director of state farm Gruzdovsky. In 1985 A.D. Artamonov moves forward to a position of the chief of district Deraptment of Agriculture, several months later is elected the first secretary of the Mosalsky district committee of the CPSU. Worked in this position about six years.

In 1991 Anatoly Dmitrievich moves to Obninsk where he soon becomes the chief executive of the Obninsk construction and industrial joint-stock company. Took active part in creation of the joint Russian-Hungarian venture "Ros-Santim "" which is engaged in implementation of the latest construction technologies.

In November, 1996 Anatoly Dmitrievich Artamonov is elected the vice governor of the Kaluga region. Initiative, ability it is competent to solve the problems facing area, to cause capability in people personal sympathy, to rally them around itself and to direct to achievement of a common goal - these qualities even his critics note.

On the elections which took place on November 12, 2000 A.D. Artamonov was elected the Governor of the Kaluga region. 56.72 percent of voters gave votes for him.

On March 14, 2004 A.D. Artamonov is elected the Governor of the Kaluga region for the second term. 66.86% of voters gave the votes for it.

On July 22, 2005 according to a new order of formation of executive bodies of the government the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin made A.D. Artamonov's nomination for consideration of Legislative Assembly of the Kaluga region for investment with its powers of the Governor of the region.

On July 26, 2005 deputies of Regional legislative assembly at an extraordinary session the vast majority of voices made the decision on A.D. Artamonov's investment with powers of the Governor of the Kaluga region for new five-year term.

On July 26, 2010 the Governor entered a position for new term.

A.D. Artamonov considers the main task quality improvement of life of the population of the area. Priority activities - development of the innovation economy, the investment attraction, improvement of the interbudget relations and also gasification of the area, strengthening of a system of mortgage lending, construction of socially important objects.

In recent years the Kaluga region is among the most dynamically developing regions of Russia and on key indicators occupies one of leading places in Central Federal District.

Since February, 2020 - the Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on the budget and financial markets. The member of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from the Kaluga region.
