Rosleskhoz prepares for implementation of GLONASS

According to the website wood.ru, "GLONASS" will shortly arrive on service to the Russian forestry. Rosleskhoz together with scientific research institute of space instrument making handle an issue of testing in field conditions of the navigation equipment which is going to be used for detection and suppression of wildfires, acceptance of forestry and landscape works, carrying out the state inventory of the woods and lesopatalogichesky monitoring. The first twenty devices will be tested in five forest areas of the Moscow region which in the summer of 2010 most strongly suffered from wildfires.

As reported in Rosleskhoz, in the long term all specialized transport of forestry can be equipped with the navigation GLONASS equipment with a channel of communication on the dispatcher station equipped with electronic cards and funds of broadcast of data for higher level. Dispatching system will allow in a constant duty of a message monitoring of forests: exercise control of an operational situation, define fire-dangerous sections, coordinate actions of forest fire crews, make routes of movement of forces, perform a coordinate and time binding of subjects to suppression, mobile means of forest fire and rescue groups. Department notes that the software of dispatcher stations at the same time allows to solve also fiscal problems. It is capable to automatically determine and select the facts of abuse of regulations of service. Based on watch for any change the report on how assigned tasks were carried out can be made.

Process of interaction of Rosleskhoz and Roskosmos was included into an active phase since the beginning of 2011. In February the working group of specialists of two departments concerning interaction in the field of space technologies was created, the draft agreement which should be signed by both parties in the nearest future was prepared.
