In Pirs company the storage system is created

In Pirs company, the design institute working in the field of reconstruction and construction of facilities of oil and gas the project on creation of a storage system is complete. The project was executed by Nvision Group company. Within the project the solution on consolidation of the storage system (SS) including the main, reserve DWH and network equipment was developed. As a core of distributed system were selected by DWH of EMC CLARiiON which do not contain "a uniform point of failure" and have a monitoring system and predictions of failures.

A system is unrolled on two platforms. Platform No. 1 ensures functioning of all of applications of the client, critical for business. In the solution the software of EMC Navisphere Quality of Service Manager using which resources of DWH between applications are distributed is used, and capture of all resources is excluded by one of applications.

On platform No. 2 reserve DWH of the same model, as on platform No. 1, having sufficient capacity for storage of all critical data is placed. Software of EMC SnapView provides protection against logical errors and excludes long unavailability of data.

For release of main systems from additional loading, on platform No. 2 the backup system using reserve DWH is placed. Thus the required performance level of the main DWH is provided.

Between platforms No. 1 and No. 2 on allocated channels of optical fiber using the FiberChannel protocol synchronization of softwares of EMS of MirrorView given by means is performed that allows to have the relevant copy of data on platform No. 2. Centralized operation of DWH by means of software of EMC Navisphere Manager simplifies administration of a system and allows to perform operational monitoring of work of DWH.
