2021: Start testing flying ambulances in the EU
In mid-February 2021 Europe , projects on the use drones of unmanned aerial vehicles for assistance were launched in six countries. emergency medical care
The AiRMOUR research project should prove that personal air vehicles for doctors and medical supplies can be used to provide emergency medical care. Modelling will take place in Luxembourg and field tests will take place in Stavanger (Norway), Helsinki (Finland) and the Nord-Hesse region (Germany). The results will be used in the creation of an urban unmanned aerial system, the development of recommendations for individual cities and other interested parties, as well as a training program in cooperation with Eurocontrol.
The Chinese company EHang is one of the 17 partners selected to participate in the project. EHang already has permission from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority for long-term flight tests of its two-seater autonomous aircraft. EHang plans to use the EH216, as well as a smaller Falcon unmanned aerial vehicle for transporting medical supplies. Other participating drone developers include flyXDrive, TUDelft and MAVlab, HyFly and Sabca. EHang also participates in the project of the International Civil Aviation Organization to develop a flying ambulance eVTOL.[1]
