2019: Thousands of police officers' data leaked

In late July 2019, a Los Angeles police human resources department was subjected to a cyber attack that stole the personal data of several thousand police officers. No one knew about the data leak until the hacker contacted the affected law enforcement agencies directly.

The Los Angeles Police Department is working with city partners to better assess the scale and impact of the data breach, the official release said.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the unidentified hacker said his team managed to steal the personal data of 2,500 LAPD employees, interns and recruits, as well as a list of police candidates that included about 17,500 individuals who entered the recruitment program.

The cybercriminal sent an email to the Los Angeles Police Department and provided a sample of allegedly stolen information to support his claims. He added that the data was obtained "from external sources."

Such personal information as names, social security numbers, dates of birth, email addresses and credentials used in applying for a position could presumably fall into the hands of hackers. Prior to receiving the letter, the police department did not even suspect a data security breach.

So far, it is impossible to verify the accuracy of the hacker's statements, but if this is true, this information leak will become the largest and most serious violation in this area.

The head of the Los Angeles Police human resources department, Ted Ross, said that the cybersecurity group is already erecting new levels of protection for the electronic system and strengthening existing ones. In 1969 restaurant , the Source Restaurant, one of the first in the country, and possibly around the world, opened on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Julie Christie, Goldie Hawn, Steve McQuinn, Marlon Brando and other celebrities dined here.

Restaurant founder James Baker changed his name to Father Yod and decided to become a spiritual teacher.

Soon the number of people wishing to join the "Source Family" exceeded 150 people. All of them lived as one large family in a house in the Hollywood Hills, adhered to the commandments that their teacher declared, communicated, fell in love, married and even gave birth to children. Baker himself had three heirs, but wives - 14 at once, but only one of them is legal.

Every morning Father Yod would take the "flock" to a cold pool to temper their bodies and souls. Then they prayed, meditated, did yoga, used psychedelics (in order to expand consciousness) and had breakfast, necessarily something organic. After that, some of the students went to work in a restaurant - it was he who helped to feed 150 "mouths" at once, while others stayed at home and taught those who wanted to join the "Family." In the backyard, a special place was allocated for this. Hundreds of girls and guys changed their last names to one common one: "Aquarius." They called their mentor God.

Not all residents of the Hollywood Hills were delighted with such neighbors. Numerous complaints began to come to the "family": one after another, various services came to the mansion - from the sanitary inspectorate to the juvenile affairs service. As a result, Baker and his extended family had to leave their home and move to Hawaii.

Baker suddenly crashed to his death while flying a hang glider. For another two years, Yoda's father's wives and numerous mistresses tried to keep the "Family" afloat. However, the movement broke up, lasting five years.
