2024: Construction of a satellite city near Arkhangelsk for ₽171 billion

In the Arkhangelsk region, it is planned to build a new satellite city "Arctic Park" worth ₽171 billion. The project, designed for 28 thousand inhabitants, will be implemented within 20 years. This became known in October 2024 after the completion of the development of the concept of the microdistrict.

According to Delovoy Petersburg, the governor of the Arkhangelsk region, Alexander Tsybulsky, presented the details of the project in his Telegram channel. The new area, which will be considered an urban area, will be located on an area of ​ ​ 358 hectares near the Arkhangelsk (Talagi) International Airport.

The territory of the "Arctic Park" will be divided into five zones, including apartment buildings, individual residential buildings and townhouses. There is also a multifunctional zone with social facilities and a green recreational zone.

According to the developer's plans, more than 50 residential buildings with a total number of apartments over 12.5 thousand will be erected within two decades. In the first stages of construction, multi-family housing will prevail, and townhouses and individual houses are planned to be built in the final stages of the project.

The satellite city's infrastructure will include four schools, 13 kindergartens and two clinics. In addition, the project provides for the construction of a water park, an amusement park, a shopping center and a hotel with a congress hall.

The developer is Transstroydevelopment from Vladivostok. JSC Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic will provide the developer with a number of benefits, including tax. Of the total investment, more than ₽123 billion will be directed directly to housing construction.

The Arctic Park project is part of a trend towards the development of housing construction in the northern regions of Russia. So, in Murmansk, three large developers - Samolet, shipping documentation and GloraX - plan to build residential districts with a total area of ​ ​ 600 thousand square meters. m in the coming years. In the city of Kola, Murmansk region, in August 2024, construction began on the first residential quarter since Soviet times.[1]
