The volume of the Russian market for spare parts for trucks for the year reached ₽780 billion
The Russian market for spare parts for trucks reached $8.4 billion (₽780 billion at the exchange rate as of July 15, 2025) at the end of 2024. The largest share in the structure of the secondary market for auto components is occupied by buses 37% of the total capacity. This is evidenced by the data of the Avtostat agency, published on July 15, 2025.
The agency's experts have compiled a rating of the most capacious groups of automotive components for trucks as part of the preparation of an updated report on the calculation of market capacity. The study covers the secondary market for spare parts and automotive components for commercial vehicles in Russia.
The structure of the secondary component market for trucks by merchandise group was as follows:
- tires lead with a maximum share;
- oils 10.7%;
- fuel system components 6.5%;
- brake system components 6.5%;
- suspension parts 4.4%;
- 3.6% batteries;
- 3.5% filters;
- engine parts 3.0%;
- clutch 1.8%;
- transmission 1.3%;
- other components 21.7%.
The ten largest auto parts groups provided 78.3% of the total capacity of the secondary component market for trucks in Russia in 2024. The dominance of tires in the structure is explained by the high need to replace these components due to the intensive operation of commercial vehicles.
Oils took second place in the ranking, which is due to the need for regular maintenance of trucks. The components of the fuel and brake systems showed the same performance, demonstrating the importance of these systems for the safe operation of freight transport.
Suspension parts reflect loads on the undercarriage during cargo transportation. Batteries occupy a significant position in the cost structure for spare parts for commercial vehicles.
Filters for various purposes provide the need for regular replacement of consumables. Engine parts reflect the complexity and cost of repairing truck power units.
Clutch and transmission take up smaller shares, which is due to the lower frequency of replacement of these components compared to consumables. Other components make up a significant part of the market. [3]
The volume of the auto parts market for the year grew by 15% to ₽650 billion
The volume of the Russian auto parts market reached ₽650 billion in 2024, showing an increase of 15% compared to the previous 2023. This became known in June 2025. The data was published by the analytical agency Avtostat on the basis of its own research.
Domestic manufacturers provided the main contribution to the growth of the auto parts market - their share in total sales increased by 10 percentage points in 2024. Russian companies took a record position, reaching 45% of the total sales of auto components in the country. Analysts associate this result with the expansion of the line of localized goods and the active substitution of imports against the background of restrictions on external supplies.
Analysts explain the growth in demand for Russian auto parts in 2024 by the course of import substitution, which is consistently implemented by the Russian government. Support measures for local manufacturers have reduced dependence on foreign supplies and increased the share of domestic goods in the auto component market.
The decrease in imports of auto parts to Russia in 2024 was 20% compared to the previous 2023. This decline was partially offset by the growth of domestic production capacities: enterprises of the domestic auto industry increased the production of components, which made it possible to maintain stable supplies on the market.
The Russian auto parts market in 2024 demonstrated not only growth in volumes, but also structural changes. Many domestic manufacturers have modernized production lines, which made it possible to improve the quality of products and reduce technological dependence on imports.
Demand for auto parts for cars operating in Russia for more than 10 years is expected to grow. The aging fleet creates additional opportunities for the development of the aftermarket.[4]
