Busting

The busting is understood as pumping of someone else's accounts in games — increase in the level of development of characters and rating for a certain payment.

2018: For pumping of someone else's account in games began to send to jail for 2 years

At the beginning of December, 2018 in South Korea the amendment to the law on development of the game industry which will prohibit residents of the country to be engaged in a busting of accounts was adopted. The innovation will become effective in 6 months — in May, 2019. Imprisonment for a period of up to two years or a penalty in the amount up to $18,000 will be punishment for a busting.

This measure was developed together with representatives of the game industry. After preliminary approval of the amendment they had an opportunity to inflict sanctions on the proxy websites advertized on portals and also on the professional proxy companies. "Proxies" call any actions which prevent normal work of a game thanks to rendering services in an account prokachivaniye the method which is not approved by the business operator of a game. Earlier due to the lack of legal sanctions such proxy providers were registered as entrepreneurs and actively were engaged in sales of the pumped-over accounts.

The majority of popular games are under pressure from the professional proxy companies. Especially considerably it affected cybersport, as was the cause for introduction of the amendment, but casual gamers and normal users had to face this problem too. Representatives of game community of South Korea express hope that the new amendment will help cybersport to become a fair and transparent action.
