2021: Launch of a large-scale digital transformation program in Greece

In early November 2021, the government Greece Cisco announced the launch of a joint platform as part of the Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program. Its goal is to accelerate digitization throughout the country and to ensure a comprehensive recovery from the pandemic. COVID-19

The new solution was presented at a meeting of the Minister of Digital Development in the country, Kyriakosom Pierrakakis, with representatives of Cisco, in particular with Executive Vice President and Chief Customer and Partner Director Jerry Elliott, Vice President and Director of Global Innovation Guy Didrich and Managing Director of the company Antonis Cibukis.

A large-scale digital transformation program has been launched in the country

The CDA programme in Greece is aligned with the Greece 2.0 strategy, which is a blueprint for transforming the country's economic model towards sustainable growth by moving to a zero-carbon digital economy. Cisco expressed its intention to support this transition through technology, know-how, and expertise, focusing on the following key areas:

• digitization and security of public sector services;

• hybrid learning models for schools;

• Future training in cybersecurity and next-generation IT;

• helping to build a sustainable maritime industry through Greece's digital ports.

In addition, the Cisco Center for Digital Transformation and Advanced Training in Thessaloniki was officially opened. The Center develops practical solutions using the innovative technologies of Cisco and its partner ecosystem, as well as startups, educational and research institutions. Joint innovations will focus on areas such as the quality of life of citizens (e.g. smart cities), health, rural development, tourism, environmental protection, civil protection and others. The strategic location of the center makes it accessible not only from Greece, but also from the Balkans and Southeast Europe.^[1]
