Demanded opportunities of BI

If before crisis demanded support of rapid growth from a system, then now - increases in efficiency. Customers seriously weigh expediency of investments. Budgets are sent to those projects from which return will promote as much as possible achievement of business objectives. If earlier calculation of return had not to be considered, then now it practically is always necessary. Even more often projects are preceded by the consulting allowing to define expediency of implementation, to work options of technical solution, having tested them in laboratory.

Data analysis was and remains the most demanded possibility of BI systems, Maxim Andreyev, the head of business applications of CROC company says.  The reporting, fast submission of necessary information in different cuts, simplicity and visualization of the user interface belong to basic opportunities which are relevant always OLAP. "Proceeding from our experience for the last year, it is possible to mark keen interest in information representation on maps", - he added.

Also in CROC note interest in in-memory to technologies of data processing (IBM Cognos TM1, QlikView) and to specialized analytical DBMS (Oracle Essbase, Sybase IQ, Teradata, Greenplum, SAS). The relevance of in-memory of technologies was noted also in ATC.

According to Andrey Terekhov, the head of the BI direction of ATK consulting group, from the technology point of view in each industry the BI specifics. So, many representatives of a telecom aim to use BI systems to the maximum, involving not only ample analytical opportunities of BI, but also work with data in the mode close to real time. Therefore in many telecommunication companies the system of a business intelligence purchases function of operational monitoring.

At the same time Alexey Yudin, the advisor to director general of Prognoz company, believes that in terms of instrumental filling, today's users "have already not enough means of so-called traditional BI: reportings, monitoring of a situation, control panels (dashbord)". He notes that more and more demanded are tools of advanced analytics: modeling and forecasting of a situation, optimization, identification of dependences.

Demand for predictive analytics grows as from public institutions, and corporate clients. Use of analytical instruments of forecasting and modeling of a situation allows to build the complex models considering the internal and external environment of the organization that considerably increases quality of projections, Yudin added.

In general, among BI-of solutions it is possible to select the following main directions: integration solutions, solutions for formation of the preconfigured reporting, analytical solutions and monitoring solutions, the head of practice of Microsoft BI of NaviCon Group company Andrey Zamyslov says.

At the same time in the field of integration solutions interest in the software products connected with implementation of integration buses is observed. This trend is caused by rapid growth of information volumes, and, often sources of this information are territorially distributed and also wide circulation of approach to creation of corporate data warehouses.

The most popular and universal BI solutions are the analytical systems based on OLAP technologies. These solutions create dynamic models of data on the basis of which users have an opportunity independently to build information analysis process, using in real time necessary analysts and indicators at the required detail level of information. "The demand the market of analytical BI solutions is explained by a top trend of development of the Russian enterprises: at present they perform transition from formation the politician and automation of management accounting to efficiency evaluation and correction of the created business processes", - Andrey Zamyslov explained.

And, at last, for monitoring of business processes use control panels with a possibility of Web access and interactive data analysis. However this class of solutions is demanded in those companies which already apply analytical BI solutions, at the same time in scales of all enterprise, but not separate divisions or users. But such companies so far in the market of unit, the expert concluded.

That kasayetsyavybor of specific platforms, according to Kirill Burliuk, the director of the department of business applications "Sitronics Information Technologies",  the main arguments for benefit of the choice of this or that BI solution, this evident information display and ample opportunities on formation of own, individual reports on as much as broad set of parameters. Than and clear the interface is more developed, than more logical for an end-user the result – the set analytical cut – that high probability of the fact that the company will select this solution looks.
