2020: The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation ordered to equip medical offices with bactericidal irradiators

At the end of July 2020, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation issued an order according to which the offices of doctors in medical institutions should be equipped with bactericidal irradiators. According to the document, air purifiers or devices for decontamination and disinfection of air in each medical office should contain at least one piece of bactericidal irradiator.

The requirements of the Ministry of Health come into force on August 9, 2020. If by this date the medical institutions do not have time to equip the units with bactericidal irradiators, then there will be a violation of the license requirement, for which administrative liability is established under Art. 14.1 or 19.20 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

However, the procedure for public procurement for budget healthcare institutions is not fast, so they are unlikely to have time to "turn" disinfectants by this time. According to the editor-in-chief of the Право-мед.ру information portal Alexei Panov, Roszdravnadzor, which monitors compliance with licensing requirements, will not immediately include measures of administrative responsibility, but will limit itself only to warnings.

Bactericidal irradiators can provide disinfection in rooms where sterility is required, and are also used in a complex of sanitary and hygienic measures in rooms where aseptic conditions in the presence of people need to be maintained at all times.

Medical organizations will have to purchase a fairly large number of air purifiers, if this has not been done before. It can be assumed that there will be a shortage of them in the market, and due to increased demand, prices will increase, "says Panov.

However, during the pandemic, such equipment was released in large numbers.[1]
