In 2023, more than 3.8 thousand people died on Russian reservoirs. Compared to the previous year, the indicator decreased by about 1%. Such data in early January 2024 was published by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
It is noted that the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Russian Emergencies Ministry conducts continuous monitoring of water bodies. According to the head of the department, Alexander Kurenkov, during 2023, a total of over 4.5 thousand incidents occurred on water bodies. This is almost 4% less than a year earlier. At the same time, specialists saved about 1900 people.
In Russia, theFor 2023, we see a slight decrease in the number of dead - 3810 people against 3845 in 2022. But the carelessness of adults to safety issues is alarming. Uncontrollability on their part can cost the lives of children, "Kurenkov said. |
In 2023, 447 minors drowned on Russian reservoirs. It is noted that during the summer of 2023, 714 people were rescued on the reservoirs of Russia, including 157 children. At the same time, 2381 people died during the swimming season, of which 358 were children. For comparison: in the summer of 2022, 2529 people drowned, including 357 children.
Among the main causes of incidents on the water are swimming in unequipped and prohibited places, bathing while intoxicated, as well as leaving children unattended. In the summer of 2023, more than 5 thousand wild beaches were identified in Russia. Of these, 71 were provided with swimming spaces. At the same time, 722 mobile rescue posts provided security in unequipped bathing places. The Ministry of Emergency Situations also indicates that the death toll on water bodies is growing due to the heat. The agency warns that you cannot enter the water in an unfamiliar place, swim behind buoys and fences and ignore the "swimming is prohibited" sign[1]
