2024: Electrical manufacturing growth to $2.4 billion
The volume of production of electrical products in Uzbekistan amounted to $2.4 billion at the end of 2024, while exports reached $1.3 billion. TAdviser got acquainted with such data in January 2025.
The volume of investments in the industry amounted to $516 million. In 2024, 85 new enterprises were launched, on which more than 27 thousand jobs were created.
InThe chairman of the Uzeltehsanoat association said that in 2025 it is planned to launch 290 new projects with a total value of $4 billion and attract investments worth $600 million.
The share of the electrical industry in the total industrial production of Uzbekistan reached 3.5%, and in the structure of export of goods - 10%. For the development of the industry, additional land plots were allocated: 200 hectares in Ahangaran, 10 hectares in Ferghana and 4 hectares in Urgench.
As part of the production localization program, it is planned to implement investment projects in the amount of $75 billion, of which $28 billion will be the local component. Enterprises introducing high-tech production will be given a three-year tax vacation.
Projects worth $68 million will be launched in the Ahangaran copper cluster, $30 million in Kashkadarya, Fergana and Urgench. A guaranteed sales market for products of ₸15 trillion is being created for purchases by ministries and industrial enterprises.
The government is developing a procedure for purchasing equipment for renewable power from local manufacturers for social facilities. The industry is seen as key to the development of the country's green economy.
According to forecasts of industry experts, the implementation of the measures will increase annual exports to $3 billion and increase production to ₸50 trillion. Special attention is paid to the development of innovations and the training of qualified specialists.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to create additional conditions for entrepreneurs in the field of infrastructure, financing and raw materials.[1]
