Engineering Data Management

For effective work of many enterprises there is no need of product information management for all its lifecycle. For them the diverse PDM functions are excessive, and the workflow system reloaded excess information and is not clear to the end user. In these cases it is much more reasonable to use that part of a system which is engaged only in document flow of engineering objects. A basic element of EDM technology is the document (the graphic drawing, the text document  , etc.). The structure of document storage in EDM is very similar to structure of document storage in the Windows file system and is clear even not to the specialist that it facilitates work with a system. As the EDM technology is focused first of all on text documents, it gives ample opportunities on its integration with CAD-applications.
