In 2024, spending on the global femtech market amounted to $7.81 billion. More than half of this amount fell on the North American region. Such data are provided in a Fortune Business Insights study, the results of which were published on July 25, 2025.

The femtech (Female Technology) sector includes various products and services focused on women's health. These are decisions related, in particular, to reproductive functions, pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as the control of sexual life, menstrual cycle and fertility.

One of the drivers of the analytics market is the increase in the prevalence of female diseases, such as menstrual disorders, thrush, endometriosis, cervical erosion, etc. Furthermore, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), conditions associated with pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum contribute significantly to morbidity and mortality among women. Various complications from obstetric procedures, including perinatal depression and obstetric fistula, occur 20 times more often than maternal death. Against this background, there is an increase in demand for advanced products that help track health indicators during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.

Technological advances, including the introduction of artificial intelligence and machine learning, are having a positive impact on the industry. In some countries, there is low awareness of the benefits of such solutions among women. Potential buyers can also be deterred by the high cost of modern devices. In addition, the spread of femtech solutions is hindered by social and cultural differences in developed and developing countries, especially in rural areas.

The study authors segment the market into products related to menstrual cycle and fertility, care of pregnant and breastfeeding women, menopausal health maintenance, and the overall condition of the female body. In 2024, the largest share of revenue was provided by solutions for pregnant and breastfeeding women - 44.6%: the development of this area is facilitated by the growing demand for wearable devices and means of remote monitoring of maternal health. From a geographical point of view, North America leads with 53.64% of revenue, or $4.19 billion: the dominance of the region is due to increased health care costs, rapid technological progress and a growing number of startups focused on women's health solutions.
