History

2025: Electronics production in Kazakhstan increased by 70.8% over the year and reached 18 billion rubles

In February 2026, official data on the results of the industry for the production of electronic and optical products for 2025 were released in Kazakhstan. The total volume of output in monetary terms reached a record 117.1 billion tenge (about 18 billion rubles), which is 70.8% more than in 2024.

The geographical distribution of production remains highly concentrated. According to EnergyProm, Almaty accounts for 38.2% of the total volume or 44.7 billion tenge (6.8 billion rubles). Karaganda region makes a significant contribution - 17.8 billion tenge (2.71 billion rubles), Astana city (17.5 billion tenge, or 2.7 billion rubles), as well as West Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan regions with 11 billion tenge (1.7 billion rubles) and 10.1 billion tenge (1.5 billion rubles), respectively.

An analysis of the physical volumes of production shows that the record cost is not provided by the production of computer equipment. The production of computers and similar devices in 2025 decreased by 17.4%, amounting to 19.5 thousand units.

The main growth is provided by other categories. According to EnergyProm, TV production has more than 3 times increased - up to 134.9 thousand units. The production of devices for monitoring physical quantities increased by more than 6 times, reaching 396.4 thousand units. Electricity meter production remained positive, increasing by 10.9% to 424.6 thousand units.

Price dynamics had a significant impact on the cost indicators. According to EnergyProm experts, after the situation changed in 2022, the cost of audiovisual equipment and equipment for information processing increased sharply. In particular, laptops in 2025 went up by 27.6%, and TVs with a diagonal of 43-49 inches - by 18.6%.[1]

2024: Growth in electronics production by 2.5 times to ₸7,2 billion

The production of electronic household appliances in Kazakhstan in 2024 increased 2.5 times, reaching ₸7,2 billion. This was reported in February 2025 in the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan, publishing data on the dynamics of the industry. Experts note that the growth is due to the expansion of local production, an increase in investments in the sector and an increase in demand for domestic products.

According to Profit, the Karaganda region with a volume of ₸3,1 billion (43.1% of total production) became the leader in the production of household appliances, followed by Almaty region (₸2,2 billion) and the city of Almaty (₸1,3 billion).
