Consciousness Management

Programming emotional reactions

Little Albert Experiment

Little Albert is J. Watson's famous psychological experiment, which shows that emotional reactions can be pre-programmed in humans by creating reflexes.

The participant in the experiment was a child, popularly known today as Little Albert. Around the age of nine months, scientists investigated the child's response to a number of stimuli, including white rats, rabbits, monkeys, masks, and newspaper burning. The boy at first showed no fear at any of these objects that were shown to him.

The next time the rat was presented to Albert, Watson made a loud noise, hitting a metal pipe with a hammer. Naturally, the child began to cry after hearing a loud noise. After again coinciding the presentation of a white rat with a loud noise, Albert began to cry, just seeing the rat.

The Albert crumb experiment is an example of how creating the necessary external conditions can be used to fix an emotional response.

Neutral stimulus: white rat Unconditional stimulus: loud noise Unqualified Answer: Fear Conditional stimulus: white rat Conditional reaction: fear. Despite the fact that initially the white rat did not cause any fear! The reaction to the remaining items from the list remained neutral.

Today, the experiment raises the idea of how easy it is to manipulate and control the consciousness of people, understanding how the highest nervous activity works.

Mental health tests

Akioshi Kitaoka Test

This illusion was invented by Akioshi Kitaoka, professor of psychology at the University of Ritsumeikan (Kyoto) in Japan.

In 1991, Akioshi Kitaoka received a doctorate in psychology, specialization: illusions of movement, visual illusions, perception of geometric forms, color, brightness and other visual phenomena.

According to Akioshi Kitaoka, using pictures, the so-called "visual illusions," you can determine the mental state of a person, they help reflect his inner mood.

To make sure that the image is static, you need to focus your vision on one section of the picture - movement, if you have observed it, stops. This convinces us that the motion of the drawing is created by our imagination.

Look at the illusion for a while carefully:

If the drawings are absolutely motionless - you have nothing to worry about, mental health is in perfect order. The professor believes that such a result is possible in a person who is balanced, calm and rested.

If the drawings are moving slowly, you need rest, both physical and moral. Full sleep, which is the best antidepressant, is especially important.

Of course, this test cannot be used to accurately diagnose the state of the psyche, but there is definitely something in it.
