According to the source of agency, Apple explained need to get rid of thresholds so: if engineers have to change a step, entering the building of the headquarters, they can distract from the work.

Besides, the corporation very strictly approached material selection (one guide to treatment of the special wood used in the building occupied 30 pages) and quality of building (usually at construction it is blundered from three millimeters; Apple required that the error was much less).

The corporation also wanted that all pointers in the building corresponded to its minimalist design, but the fire service required that plates were well noticeable in case of emergency situation. Dirk Mattern, the representative of fire department of the district Santa Clara in the territory of which the headquarters is under construction about 15 times met Apple on this matter. "I never spent so much time for pointers" — he told.

One more example of reverent attitude to parts which gives Reuters concerns door handles. In 2015 the corporation charged to contractors to complete handles for conference rooms and offices. In several months workers provided to the manager of Apple the ready handle. That turned it in hands and said that he feels roughness on a surface.

Contractors rechecked all sizes and did not find any deviations even at the nanometer level. But Apple insisted that handles do not approach. The corporation thought over their design at least one and a half more years.

Sources of Reuters told that in Campus 2 Apple elevators the buttons reminding the Home button in iPhones are used. One of former employees of construction company told that the design of toilets also reminds design of iPhones.

It is planned that the new complex will add the existing Apple headquarters, but will not be constructed in exchange by it. iSpaceship will be created with calculation of to contain 12 thousand jobs against 2.6 thousand jobs for which base is the current headquarters. As Jobs told then, approximately for 9.4 thousand employees office spaces are rented, and the new complex will be able to accomodate all staff of the company in this region.
