Hackers blocked the personal accounts of all users of Greek public services

In addition, hackers reported blocking the sites of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health of Greece and the largest Greek mobile operator Cosmote. Currently, the sites of the listed departments, as well as the operator's site, are not available to users.

A number of NATO countries, including Greece, supported Ukraine's application to join the alliance at a closed meeting in Brussels in October 2022, Politico reported. According to the publication, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recognized Ukraine's desire to join NATO, but noted that he did not see "any solutions in the short term."

Other NATO representatives, in particular Poland and Greece, said they support Ukraine's application.

Greece in October 2022 began transferring Soviet-made BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, which were in service with the GDR army and transferred to Athens by Germany. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba at a press conference with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in Kyiv.

According to media reports, in the 1990s, Greece received from Germany at a discounted price of about 500 BMP-1, which the FRG inherited from the GDR army. These Soviet BMP-1 were later modernized and brought to NATO standards. 185 BMP-1 remain on the move. In September this year, the Greek Ministry of National Defense announced that Greece would send 40 BMP-1 to Ukraine, in return it would receive the same number of German Marders.^[1]
