Putin approved the creation of a bank of data on large families
The President Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree that at the federal level enshrines the status of large families and defines support measures for them. The corresponding document was published on January 23, 2024.
The decree provides for the creation in Russia of a bank of data on large families. Its conduct will be handled by the government, which is also entrusted with monitoring the socio-economic situation of large families and providing them with social support by the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. It is assumed that the bank of data on large families will be conducted on a single centralized digital platform in the social sphere.
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, a member of the organizing committee of the Year of the Family Anton Kotyakov, the creation of a data bank for large families will avoid providing documents confirming the status of a large family when appointing support measures, as well as proactively inform about available support measures.
The Ministry of Labor added that large families, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, are guaranteed the provision of state benefits and payments in connection with the birth and upbringing of children, support in the field of labor relations, parents with many children are given the right to receive additional vocational education, and mothers with many children - to early appointment of an insurance pension. In addition, in the order and on the conditions established by the regions, the right to free visits to museums, parks of culture and recreation, exhibitions throughout the country is guaranteed.
Earlier in Russia there was no single approach to determining the status of a large family, it was not enshrined in law. The regions had the right to independently determine the criteria for large families.
