In March, 2014 the marketing agency DISCOVERY Research Group provided results of a research of the market of lawn-mowers in Russia in 2011-2013.
The market considers features of the Russian landscape and offers different lawn-mowers: manual lawn-mowers (trimmers), wheel lawn-mowers and riders (mini-tractors). Lawn-mowers can be electric, fuel (mainly petrol) and mechanical. Also they can be self-propelled and non-self-propelled. These garden units differ from each other in functionality and, naturally, in the price.

In Russia the companies are engaged in production of lawn-mowers: Sadovaya tekhnika Kalibr LLC, Interskol Ltd, Energomash, NCore, Zubr OVK Ltd, Profer. Nevertheless, production of lawn-mowers in Russia is developed poorly therefore the market is mainly provided by the models imported to the country.
Most of all in structure of import make electric lawn-mowers – about 70% in structure of import in kind, then fuel lawn-mowers – nearly 30% follow. Mechanical lawn-mowers in structure of import make an insignificant share.
It should be noted that the most popular imported brands are brands of the German producers. Export of lawn-mowers is practically absent.
By estimates of DISCOVERY Research Group growth rates of the market of lawn-mowers slow down today, but the market continues recovery to the level of 2011. In the short term in the market of lawn-mowers positive changes thanks to influence of such factors as growth of country construction and increase in interest in a giving decor are expected.
