On its surface, the lymphocyte has special receptors (clearly seen in the picture), which are able to recognize and destroy almost all foreign cells that enter our body. Also, if some cell of our own body begins to behave differently, then the lymphocyte also destroys it, and it does so beautifully that other cells do not suffer.
Getting into the blood with lympha
Fluid is exchanged between blood and tissues. Lymph is the filtrate (liquid) that has filtered out of the blood in the tissue and contains white blood cells and antigen-presenting cells.
Lymph returns to blood vessels, but together with it takes the metabolic products of cells and tissues - proteins, carbohydrates, fats and excess fluid that skin tissues do not need, but which may be useful to other organs and tissues.
With lympha, metabolic products of cells and tissues, as well as lymphocytes, leak to the lymph nodes - by this mechanism, lymphocytes that provide an immune response and metabolic products are returned to the blood for further use by the body (reutilization).

Many disease pathogens are inside affected cells beyond the reach of humoral immunity factors (such as antibodies). To cope with intracellular parasites, a separate system of cellular acquired immunity arose, based on the functioning of T-killer lymphocytes.
Lymphocyte count depends on sleep quality
In the 2010s, it was found that the number of lymphocytes and their function are significantly influenced by the quality of sleep. If a person chronically lacks sleep, his lymphocyte activity decreases. As a result, a person with insomnia or simply short sleep duration provides himself with a high vulnerability to any diseases.
