Mobile workplace: business needs really functional solutions

Work anywhere and when necessary – in it sense of true mobility. Yes, mail can be read also on the standard client in Android, iOS or Windows Phone (closing eyes to data security issues), but for editing the document it is necessary to open other application. And if it is necessary to attach different files, one of which is on the device, another – in corporate network, and the third, for example, on the SharePoint portal, the user should make many manual transactions and to spend for it a lot of time. However all of us got used to work in multitasking environment of the modern PC and therefore the need to switch constantly between applications on mobile devices causes discomfort and a labor productivity decline.

At last, providing to mobile employees remote access to corporate resources bears in itself the mass of risks of information security. For example, in open e-mail clients it is possible to use in parallel with corporate and the personal box, so – it is easy to send office letters from personal mail even if and it is accidental. And a possibility of loading of information on open file exchange services – such as DropBox or Yandex.Disk – subjects to big danger the whole arrays of confidential data.

WorksPad proposes the ready-made solution

The answer to all sounded questions is given by the Russian WorksPad application developed by MobilityLab company – the resident Skolkovo. Security – above all

But that the most interesting, WorksPad allows to increase security of users and data during the work with mobile devices. It becomes possible due to use of specially developed security policies. For example, all files, mail, calendar records are only in an application container. The administrator can prohibit completely the transaction "open in", so, information cannot leave WorksPad – the user will not be able to save files in DropBox or to send them through public postal services. And actually existence of rich tools for work with corporate content does not require in most cases use of third-party applications. Moreover, WorksPad does not allow to use removable memory cards of devices running Android.

Besides the architecture of a mobile workplace was projected taking into account risk mitigation of date leaks and cracking. The server part of the program is installed in a data processing center of the organization – for its work external connections and additional "clouds" are not necessary. The application works with the uniform directory of users of the Active Directory, the general for all company. Connections of clients and the server happen under the HTTPS protocol which protects data by transfer. And in case of loss of the device or dismissal of the employee, the administrator can configure automatic destruction of a container in attempt to log into the application, and not to leave any data to the unauthorized user. Moreover, all actions of administrators and users are recorded, and in case of incidents, does not represent complexity to understand who bears responsibility for this or that situation.
