Nokia Money

Money Nokia  is the payment system created by Nokia Corporation company. Plans of start of a system it is announced  on August 26, 2009. With its help and by means of the mobile phone users will be able to send electronic money transfers to other people, to pay purchases of goods and services, utilities and mobile communication, to buy train tickets, tickets at cinema and other. The service will work on the different cellular networks worldwide and to work practically on any mobile phone. About whether there is a speech only about offices of Nokia, it is not specified.

Access to service it will be possible to receive day and night from any place that means economy on physical trips to payment points. For work with the account of Money Nokia the network of agents using whom it will be possible to put money for the electronic account is created now or to withdraw funds.

A system was developed together with the Californian company Obopay specializing in payment systems. In  June, 2009 Nokia announced intention to invest  70 million US dollars in the company. The service will function on the Obopay platform, at the same time Nokia is going to make so that this system was open and could interact with other payment systems. Obopay payment systems work in the USA and India. According to Gartner analytical company, in  2008 in the world there were 32.9  million users mobile payments, and 103.9  million users  — in  2011.

"The service will become available to the Russian consumer, most likely, not at once  — Mikhail Fadeyev, the independent expert-analyst of the mobile market comments.  — Money Nokia will "be initially rolled" in the markets with more developed financial infrastructure where the consumer is mentally closer to perception of this sort of services. Rather serious factor which can slow down penetration of similar service in Russia  is an amplifying factor of discredit of the idea of electronic payments numerous scams, legal and not really SMS quizzes and banal SMS spam. At the population the mistrust to any services assuming financial interactions using phone obviously increases".

"From the press release not quite clear, than the solution of Nokia of service of mobile management of the bill which is given by most banks will differ  — the expert of the market of mobile services Alexander Zalesov says.  — Nokia tells about creation "networks of agents" for transfer of means in a payment system, but, in my opinion, if it are not banks, then the solution of Nokia will be less interesting in comparison with services of banks  — just because only the bank can provide many specific services in the law".

Demonstration of Money Nokia is planned for  September 2 and 3, 2009. It will pass at the World Nokia conference in Stuttgart. Deployment of service will begin at the beginning of  2010.
