2018: Start of an initiative

On September 24, 2018 Microsoft, SAP and Adobe announced a joint initiative which is designed to help the companies better and more profitable to itself to use own data.

The project under the name Open Data Initiative was submitted within the Microsoft Ignite 2018 conference to Orlando (the State of Florida, the USA). It is started how clients even more often use cloud services and infrastructure that complicates formation of outputs using the data taken from the very different systems.

TechCrunch writes that partners create uniform model for consumer data which can be ported from one platform on another. At the expense of it more transparency and control of confidentiality of information is provided, but the key sense of the project is in simplifying to the companies data exchange of the clients. These data can become the standard for CRM, notes the edition.

According to CNBC TV channel, Open Data Initiative has no accurate "road map", but, according to the representative of Microsoft, the initial idea is in that numerous applications used the general data model within clouds Microsoft Azure. The first such compatibility will receive solutions Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP C/4HANA and Adobe Experience Cloud.

There are very difficult and abounding with applications packets from SAP, Adobe and Microsoft. We are ready to unblock data within all these sets. Any separate data. Think of all data as about a continuous renewable resource — the CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella said during the performance devoted to start of Open Data Initiative.

Nadella suggested other companies and clients to join this initiative which the head of Microsoft called cooperation with "open structure". At the time of this statement it was unclear whether there will be competitors of Microsoft, it seems Amazon and Salesforce.com, to participate in this project. Meanwhile, initiatives expressed the companies the support Coca-Cola, Unilever and Walmart.[1]
