2016: Plan of promoting of an orchata

In December, 2016 it was announced that the authorities of Valencia approved the plan of cooperation with producers of earth almonds, or a chufa, and orchat drink on its basis (D.O. Chufa de València) within which regional government of tourism will promote these products in Spain and abroad. According to news agencies of the country with reference to the statement of the adviser for questions of sustainable economic development of Sandra Gómez, the agreement 4 years will be valid.

"We want to promote development of tourism in the city, to increase the value of its gastronomic and cultural traditions and to promote development of local economy", - Gómez emphasized.

According to her, the Management of tourism is going to hold a number of events abroad and also to include initiatives of promoting of an orchata in local gastronomic programs and to organize its tastings. Besides, the authorities intend to create a separate "Bicycle route of an orchata" and to render assistance in holding the Chufa Rock festival held in municipality of Alboraya. The administration is also going to make a toast with glasses with an orchaty part of the program of the holiday Las-Falyas and the accompanying hospitality events^[1].

In turn, the Regulating council will be engaged in dissemination of knowledge about a chufa and methods of its cultivation among students and other concerned parties and also deliveries of an orchata to the mayor's office for the use within the official actions.
