2025: Global Physiotherapy Equipment Market Growth to $22.27 Billion
At the end of 2025, spending on the global physiotherapy equipment market reached $22.27 billion. Almost 40% of this amount fell on the North American region. Such data are presented in a Fortune Business Insights study, the results of which are presented on December 24, 2025.
Physiotherapy devices involve treatment by means of currents of different frequency (electrophoresis, darsonval, amplipulus), magnetic waves, ultrasound, ultraviolet/infrared/visible radiation, shock wave action, laser pulses, etc. Such equipment is used to treat and prevent a wide range of diseases, including problems of the musculoskeletal system (arthritis, osteochondrosis), neurological disorders (radiculitis, neuritis), skin diseases, ENT pathologies, etc. In addition, physiotherapy machines help in the recovery of patients after injuries and operations.
One of the drivers of the market, the authors of the study call the growing awareness of patients about the advantages of physical therapy. The key advantages of such equipment are:
- Improvement of treatment effectiveness - acceleration of healing, reduction of edema and pain, improvement of blood circulation and metabolism;
- Reducing drug burden - increasing the effect of drugs, which allows you to reduce their dosage and minimize side effects;
- Complex impact - depending on the technology used, a local and general (on the CNS, immunity) positive effect is provided, the psycho-emotional state improves;
- Convenience and savings - procedures can be carried out at home in comfortable conditions without spending money on travel and clinic services;
- Safety - physiological treatments are non-toxic, have minimal side effects, work without aggressive intervention;
- Personalization - modern devices allow you to accurately adjust exposure parameters depending on the condition and needs of a particular patient.
The expansion of the market is also facilitated by an increase in the prevalence of chronic ailments: pain syndromes, musculoskeletal diseases, diabetes and obesity require constant rehabilitation support. This leads to an increase in sales of physiotherapy equipment. Another stimulating factor is the aging of the population: the elderly are more susceptible to various diseases and injuries, in the treatment of which devices for physiotherapy are used.
In 2025, North America provided the largest share of revenue - 39.1%, or $8.71 billion. Europe is in second place with $6.31 billion, and the Asia-Pacific region closes the top three with $5.27 billion. Latin America's contribution is estimated at $1.09 billion. The Middle East and Africa provided the rest of the revenue. From the point of view of individual countries, the highest costs were noted in the United States ($7.08 billion), Britain ($1.17 billion), Germany ($1.41 billion), France ($0.94 billion), India ($1.03 billion) and China ($1.82 billion). Significant industry players on a global scale are:
