2022: Attraction of RUB 261 bln of investments

At the end of 2022, about 261 billion rubles were invested in the Sakhalin Region, which is a record figure for the region. This was announced at the end of February 2023 by the press service of the local government.

Despite the difficulties that faced us in past years, the island region continued its sustainable development, - the press service quotes the words of the Governor of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko. - More than a thousand new jobs have appeared. This has become possible due to the fact that we create attractive conditions for entrepreneurs.

It is noted that about 60% of investments in Sakhalin in 2022 were directed to industries not related to the oil and gas sector. As a result, the Sakhalin region took the fifth line of the rating of investment attractiveness of the regions of Russia. At the end of 2023, the region expects to attract about 290 billion rubles of investments.

As part of the implementation of investment projects in the island region, the construction of industrial parks - oil and gas and agro-industrial, as well as the modernization of the Korsakov seaport will continue.

In addition, it is planned to build a multifunctional Poronai cargo area, create a logistics center in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a shipyard for the construction of vessels made of composite materials, a timber processing complex, a plant for the production of modular house kits and cement, a fuel production plant, fish processing plants, and the development of the Gorny Air sports and tourist complex. In the coming years, it is planned to create 15 thousand new jobs in the Sakhalin region, according to the website of the governor and the government of the Sakhalin region on February 27, 2023.^[1]
